Privacy policy

Where to Fish? is designed to keep your fishing spots, sessions and catches private on your device.

1. Data stored on your device

Your logbook may contain places, dates, species, sizes, techniques, notes and photos that you choose to add. This information is stored locally on your iPhone.

2. Location

With your permission, location is used to show nearby waters and log a session location. The publisher does not collect your precise location.

3. Optional Mistral assistant

When you use the assistant, your request and limited fishing context are sent through our secure server to Mistral. They are used only to provide the feature and are not linked to an in-app user account.

4. Purchases and app services

Apple processes payments. RevenueCat receives purchase history and a random app identifier to validate receipts, provide Premium access and produce subscription metrics. The publisher never receives your payment details.

Our server stores a random installation identifier, app version, configured language/region, subscription access and identifiers of unlocked content to manage access and rewards. It also receives notification authorization status and time zone. If you allow notifications, an Apple-provided token is stored to deliver them to your device. This does not include your logbook content or GPS location.

5. Maps and external services

The app may contact mapping, weather and public-data services. Those providers receive the technical data required to serve each request under their own policies.

6. Usage analytics and crash reports

Mixpanel measures feature usage and subscription steps using a random installation identifier. Sentry receives errors, crashes and app hangs, along with the app version, device model, iOS version, a technical installation/device identifier and product steps useful for diagnosis. These services use our European projects. We do not send them GPS coordinates, photos, notes or assistant messages. There is no screen recording or advertising tracking. Usage analytics and crash reporting are enabled by default. You can turn them off separately in the app settings; this stops future transmissions for each option.

7. Advertising and sale of data

We do not sell personal data, use it for advertising tracking or create public profiles from your spots and catches.

8. Deletion

Local data remains on your device until you delete it or uninstall the app. Turning analytics or crash reports off stops new transmissions but does not automatically delete data already received. To request deletion of data held by the publisher and its service providers, use the contact below.
